PocketTouch v1.3 Video Preview; CarTouch Announced

SkylarEC of the iPod Touch Fans community has released a preview of his latest version of PocketTouch; 1.3.

PocketTouch does the following:

When you run the Application, the screen will be black. That is to help preserve screen life and avoid images burning into the screen.

As long as MusicPlayer (or iPod) is playing a song, a simple tap on the screen will pause the song.

Tap the screen again to unpause.

Slide your finger to the right to skip to the next song.

Slide your finger to the left to play the previous song.

Enjoy! If you look closely, you might just be able to see the new features on the Settings screen. The video was mostly made to show off the App’s daemon.

Our good man Skylar also announced work on a PocketTouch side-project he calls CarTouch.

He says:

Now, my next PocketTouch based side project will be “close” to the MobileMusicPlayer app. You might even say that they’d be touching… (CarTouch, it will be called).

PocketTouch v1.3 Coming Soon; Preview – New Features

Skylar has shared his new Settings screen for PocketTouch v1.3 (not released yet). He decided to share a couplescreen captures before the actual update release.

Looking good Skylar! Keep up the phenomenal work. One of the most useful applications – no questions asked.

Here’s a lovely quote from the big guy himself:

It will be a bit before 1.3 is released. I added in a new feature that only iPhone users can use. Oddly enough, although it is completely unreleated, using this new feature with the dimmer set to ON will crash the app. It works fine with the dimmer OFF. Go figure…

Once I resolve that, release of 1.3 will be shortly after.

I’ll keep y’all informed on any updates. Thus far, no news on a release date since the above quote was made on April 11th.

Can’t wait to give this new version a go, Skylar.

PocketTouch v1.2 Cleans Things Up a Bit

Skylar has released yet another version of PocketTouch; 1.2. This update doesn’t have any fixes or larger changes, but it does make things look more sleek and stylish.

In the new version, Skylar decided to bold the song title that is currently playing, lower the font size of the “Now Playing” text, and change the font size and layout color of the application’s settings window.

PocketTouch 1.1 Released

We previously saw a sneak peek at Skylar’s forthcoming new version of PocketTouch. Now you can grab it for yourself, as version 1.1 has been released, offering up a more informative status screen, song times, and an info button to get you to the preferences easily. New settings features include the ability to disable the volume overlay, swap your gesture directions, and enable a new adjustable shake function that allows you to skip to the next track with a shake of the device. For those of you who do not have a remote for your iPod or iPhone but dearly wished you could control your device while it’s still in your pocket, this is the answer to your prayers.

PocketTouch is, as always, available on the iPod Touch Fans repo (http://www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml).

PocketTouch Updated to 1.0b. Now Shows You Currently Playing Song/Artist

SkylarEC of the iPod Touch Fans has been providing us with non-stop updates for PocketTouch, and I must admit, things just keep getting better and better.. and quick!

This is one of my most favored applications, because, not only is it easing the battery life on my iPod, but at the same time, it’s giving me quick and easy access to changing the song without having to remove the iPod from my pocket. As if that weren’t enough, it also allows for me to change the volume – which I really wish the iPod Touch had external controls for – without having to hit the home button, then sliding to unlock, and then changing the volume. Keeping in mind that the iPhone and Touch have an accelerometer, give the device a shake, and you’ll be driven to a random song in your library.

SkylarEC writes:

UPDATE 1.0b Here you go, there are a lot of tweaks within the code, proving heer’s more than one way to chase a mouse! I’ve also added in live updating track Information. And of course, the stunning GUI! Enjoy, Skylar.

Pocket Touch 0.3a Released – Volume Fix & Self Dimming

Before I get started with explaining the differences in Pocket Touch version 0.3a, I thought I’d first mention that since the last time we at Touch Podium wrote about Pocket Touch, version 0.2b had been released, which provided users with an easy way to turn down / up / off the volume by swiping upward and downward.

Now, for the latest update, version 0.3a, SkylarEC provides us with a volume fix, a self dimming screen, and not only that, but he also decided to swap the previews / next track swiping so that it is in line with Photos, etc.
