Utility Allows You to Relocate Folders, Boot in Verbose Mode

by Jody Mitoma on April 21, 2008 at 10:34 am

Utilitymicaheljcaboose of the iPod Touch Fans just recently released a program in which he calls Utility. (Not the greatest of all program names, but it’ll have to do.) Utility allows you to relocate the applications and fonts folder, and can make your iPod boot in verbose mode.

What is verbose mode, you ask?

Verbose mode is when you turn your iPod on and it shows you all the booting code. With lines of text going down the screen. It looks pretty good.

The Utility programmer says:

This is still a work in progress application. It will receive a nice GUI soon and more features.

Here are the instructions posted in the iPod Touch Fans thread:

Download the file at the bottom of the post.
UnZip the folder
To relocate your Applications and Fonts, Double click Relocate.bat
To make you iPod boot in verbose mode, Double click Vboot.bat
Enter your iPods IP Address
Type in your iPods SSH password, which should be alpine
If it asks you to press yes or no, choose yes
It should work
