downloaded trial copy of TouchDrive navigated to var/mobile/Media/DCIM and deleted all folders inside it

So I have the same issue…
cydia when I try yo run it …
it tries to load and then just returns to the iphone main menu.

I downloaded iphonebrowser and followed instructions posted above

#1. SSH into your unit
( I did not secure shell SSH… i believe… just navigated straight to the folder)
#2. Go to /var/lib/dpkg/updates/
#3. Delete the numbered files within the folder (i.e. 0000, 0001, 0002 etc.)

the thing is #3. I have no files in that folder

I just bought this 1st gen off craiglist couple dayz ago…it came with cydia and unlocked i’m on t-mobile.

I would try and re-jailbreak but from what i have been reading from you all…
it doesn’t work…

Any suggestions?

no forget all that if you have cydia just install swop camera roll and klick app then you can swop between the broken one and swop camera roll one and all apps work with the new camera roll and if you want to hide photo then swop to the broken one and know one will ever know cheers

I had the same problem with cydia and returning to homescreen.. but i had ifile installed on my iphone and deleted the 0000 file in /var/lib/dpkg/updates and VOILA now it loads as it shuld thanks man great really thx….

My Cydia is not working after I installed/download a theme (Reflective) from the Cydia. The theme it self was host by Mac*Citi. Is there anyway I can make it work again without re-jailbreak and re-unlock my phone?

Please help.

Hi again guys,
I know what the problem is. If you use the ending .mov in your h.264 files it should work on ipod and iphone.
Anyway, the program is obsolete, check out isubtitle from bitfield! it makes things much easier. if you want the cheap and manual way, try .mov as I said or try tagging the files with metaX first.

I had an app called photofunia added … Problem occurred with photos saving to camera roll after adding this app have just removed it … Problem solved

Just wanted to let everyone know I finally got Cydia working.. Just did another full restore and jailbroke again and it worked this time. This restore must of done it this time.

I aqm having the same problem as many people. I jailbreak my iPhone 3G with redsn0w .8 and the 3G 3.0 firmware, select Cydia to install and not Icey. The install seems to go fine but when I try to open up Cydia - it tries to load for a few seconds then crashes back to the home screen. I have checked my /var/lib/dpkg/updates/ folder and there a NO files in there.. How in the world am I suppose to unlock the phone? I can’t install Cydia, I can’t enable ssh to install Cydia via ssh (just was able to look at the file directory contents from iPhoneBrowser), so I am out of ideas here. Re-jailbreaking brings the same result… Can anybody help? Or is there some way I can enable ssh on my phone without Cydia? And then I can use ssh to install Cydia after I get it enabled on my phone?
