SDK Beta 4 Includes OpenGL-ES Support

opengles_75px.pngThe latest SDK beta (build 9M2165) has just been released, which is good news for game developers, as it now includes full iPhone Simulator support for OpenGL-ES. Until now, developers had to test their 3D code on the iPhone itself, which could understandably be a bit of a pain and added an extra time element to the development process. Now, the entire 3D API is supported by the simulator, so applications can be compiled, tested and debugged directly in the simulator, which should save devs a lot of time.

Additional changes in the new SDK include the ability to download the preferences and library contents of the app, functional code signing, and strangely, separate entries in the Applications for “AppStore” and “MobileStore.” What the difference is we can only guess.
