iPhone Atlas informs that an employee of Vodafone had the opportunity to get a hands-on with the upcoming 3G iPhone.
According to the employee, the following has been observed:

The back is gloss black.
The 4 models we have have a black skin wrapped around the back and glued into place. This is how they came from Apple. [...]
