I deeply apologize for my absence from TouchPodium for these last couple months. I’ve had some personal troubles I had to get through during that time. I had to fight an addiction (no not drugs or Runescape!) and deal with school. I had no time for anything else. Again, I apologize for my actions here.

NOTE: An update is at the bottom of the article regarding last-minute changes to the nature of the contest and slight change in the rules.

Pandora Faces Closure; SoundExchange Plays Tiny Violin
August 18, 2008
There is no doubt that Pandora is a great service. I used to listen to it back in the day — back before they pulled the plug on international broadcasting. It was an excellent service, though; the concept of cataloging music genetically, linking songs to other songs not merely by artist or genre, [...]
Push Notificaition Yanked from Latest iPhone Beta
August 17, 2008
I was hoping Apple would finally make good on their Push Notification Service with the September release of Firmware 2.1, but it appears that Apple have rather different plans.
The latest firmware beta (2.1b4) has been seeded to developers, and it’s a little bit lighter than previous betas as Apple have excised Push Notification Service from [...]

SoundMeter measures average sound levels with fast, slow, and impulse time weightings. Peak, maximum, and equivalent sound levels are also available. All sound levels may be measured with Flat, A, or C frequency weighting.

August 10, 2008
It seems Apple enjoys being in the middle of rants and customer and developer anger, but this time they’ve dug themselves in a deeper hole. The Slasher application will join the likes of Netshare, Box Office and I Am Rich for being pulled out of the App Store for no said reason.
Oddly, this application doesn’t [...]

Press Release: Apple News Site Challlenges Steve Jobs to China Factory Visit
August 5, 2008
Ryan Ritchey, the producer of The Digital Lifestyle, today posted a blog entry challenging Apple CEO Steve Jobs to an iPhone factory visit in China. In 2006, Apple investigated wrongdoing at a Foxconn location due to press reports of inhumane conditions. Apple’s own report found overtime violations and some questionable living quarters.
Wake Up You’re On Touch Podium!
August 4, 2008
I’m epic, at least that’s what I call myself. Others refer to me as Adam Yan from Toronto Canada. I’ve fought many many other bloggers who wanted this position but I said NO. I took out my rambo knife and cut their literary devices in half, split their compound words apart and even used naughty [...]

Neoneco’s Active Speakers Aren’t Actually Bad
July 24, 2008
The most significant issue with the iPod Touch compared to the iPhone — as with any iPod — is its lack of speakers, and the portable speaker solutions have so far been pretty lackluster; they’ve tended to be rather bulky, and being powered by the headphone jack or dock connector, they end to be a [...]
