Apple Removes Space from ‘iPhone 3GS’, Previously Known as ‘iPhone 3G S’

by Jody Mitoma on June 23, 2009 at 8:19 pm

For those of you that are not yet in the know, Apple has decided to remove the space found between 3G and S (which stands for Speed). The new name for their new product is now the iPhone 3GS, sans space. The old (above, to the left), the new (above, to the right).

This isn’t all that big of a deal to most of you, but for those whom blog about Apple’s new products on a daily basis, those of you that spent money in advertising, and for those of you whom own retail stores, this could be a little frustrating, to say the least.

It’s quite possible that upon Steve’s return to Cupertino, Cali., he decided that the name would be changed, sans-space, to better the product. Personally, I think it is better without the space, and I think that the change was a well made decision, however, I do think that it should have been figured out before the actual release of the product. Come on, Apple.

Alright, now you know, so we ask that you don’t start pissing off all the Apple fan boys with your space invasions!
