Line Ups Begin Early June 18th, for iPhone 3G S in New York and Tokyo, Most Likely Other Places Too

by Jody Mitoma on June 19, 2009 at 1:02 am

Despite the fact that it has been down pouring in New York City, New York, there are still a flock of folks waiting in line at Apple retail stores, for the early morning release of the iPhone 3G S.

This is also reportedly going on in Tokyo, Japan, with one store sporting a lineup of over 200 Apple enthusiasts, and undoubtedly many other city’s around the globe.

The photo above shows the first three college students from Monclair, N.J., Matt Dodd, Sam Epstein, and Keith Hobin. Notice how they’re huddling around borrowed Apple umbrellas in front of Apple’s New York Fifth Avenue store. They arrived at 7am EDT, which is 24 hours before Apple is scheduled to begin selling the new iPhone 3G S. Unfortunate for them, the rain was reported to continue into the night.

If you were one of the many people waiting in line for hours on end, for your brand new iPhone 3G S, feel free to share your story with us within the comments. We’d love to hear about your experience.
