Nokia’s N86 to Land on Store Shelves Same Day as Apple iPhone 3G S

Nokia’s first 8MP camera phone, the N86, will be debuting in London on June 19th, the same day as the iPhone 3G S.
This was announced via the Nokia Flagship Store’s Twitter feed, of all things, and it highlights how the phone will be landing at the same time as the flagship N97.
The N86 is Nokia’s attempt to lure in photography enthusiasts this year, given how it is unlikely to be bringing a 12MP camera phone any time this year.
Techradar writes, “And the launch of two, rather than one, high-end handsets at its Regent’s Street flagship store will hopefully go some way to limiting the damage of releasing phones on the same days as the coveted iPhone 3G S, with Apple’s flagship store just across the road. The N86 is also packing an OLED screen, S60 OS and Carl Zeiss optics for ultra clear photos.”
Nokia had actually began shipping the N86 sometime last week, so it’s no surprise that it’s quickly getting onto store shelves.
If Apple wants to keep up with the game, they better smarten up. The next iPhone (next year’s model) better sport an OLED screen, and come equiped with at least a 5MP camera, if not 8MP+.
