AT&T Actually Listened to its Customers; iPhone 3G S Upgrade Eligibility Update
by Jody Mitoma on June 17, 2009 at 6:36 pm

Believe it or not, AT&T has actually taken its customers words into consideration, and has given us a nice update on iPhone 3G S upgrade eligibility.
AT&T writes, “Some customers have had questions about our plans and policies for iPhone 3G S, and we’d like to provide you with answers. We’d also like to announce a change to the date when some iPhone customers are eligible for our best upgrade pricing to iPhone 3G S.”
AT first, AT&T was going to offer mildly subsidized prices of $399 and $499 for the 16GB and 32GB versions of the iPhone 3G S to AT&T customers who weren’t upgrade eligible, but as of this morning, things have changed. As of tomorrow, June 18th, AT&T will allow for those with an upgrade date in the months of June through September 2009, to get in on the fully discounted $199 and $299 price points. This, I’m sure, will make a lot of current iPhone owners quite content.

AT&T closed off with the following. “We’ve listened to our customers — and hope our response helps answer some of your questions and concerns.
We are incredibly proud to be the U.S. carrier for the new iPhone 3G S and will work around the clock to be ready on June 19 to serve customers who are interested in the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet.”
