Sony PSP and PSP Go Application Store in the Works, Due in August?

by Jody Mitoma on June 15, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Sony is ironing out the last of its creases in an “app store” of sorts, due out in August at Gamescom. This “app store” will feature non-gaming applications, and will have set prices between $2 and $6 per application, with a supposed 100MB size limit.

See what apple has done here? Ever since the release of the iPhone/iTunes App Store, application stores have been appearing around on all portable hardware. This is why I shared this story with all of you. If you thought that the only app stores we were going to get were from Apple, Nokia, Palm, and Android, you were definitely short thinking yourself on that one.

Now, I know this isn’t iPhone or iPod Touch news, but I wanted to share the news none-the-less, because this kind of stuff is important to know. It’s relating to an application store, so I figured I’d let the world know that Apple has started something really big here.
