Dev-Team (yellowsn0w, PwnageTool, QuickPwn) Updates on iPhone OS 3.0
by Jody Mitoma on June 15, 2009 at 8:16 pm
Just minutes ago, the official Dev-Team posted up an update in regards to yellowsn0w, PwnageTool, and QuickPwn, on their blog.
The Dev-Team states that they will be doing a live demo of the yellowsn0w carrier unlock working on official 3.0 firmware on Tuesday evening, just before the official release of said firmware; 3.0. They will be twittering the feed using @MuscleNerd’s twitter account, and blogged once it’s all been finalized. Dev-Team writes, “The demo should answer everything you need to know about the new yellowsn0w. But it’s good news for iPhone 3G unlockers everywhere.”
In the meantime, the Dev-Team is in the middle of testing their PwnageTool and QuickPwn tools. The team states that they will work wonders with iTunes 8.2. The Dev-Team writes, “The jailbreak of course continues to work on 3.0 for all devices it ever worked on, thanks due the Pwnage 2.0 technique released last summer. Our tools will be released no sooner than the Apple release (just in case!).”
At the end of their blog post, they gave off a little warning about future iPhone 3G S updates, in regards to hack results. Have a read at the quote below.
“P.S. For the new iPhone 3GS, please don’t expect periodic updates about any progress we have or don’t have. Nothing gives Apple the upper hand like someone tweeting or blogging or partial hack results. That’s not how cat & mouse is played
That’s how the cat gets fed.”
