It looks like T-Mobile has leaked some information on the upcoming iPhone 3G S products. According to the company, the newest iPhone is sporting a 600MHz processor, and 256MB’s of RAM.
For comparison reasons, the iPhone 3G sports a measly 412MHz processor, whilst the 2nd Generation iPod Touch sports a quicker 532MHz processor.
With the iPhone 3G S’s 600MHz processor, it’ll make it the fastest iPhone/iPod Touch on the market today. At the rate that processor speed has been raising within these iPod/iPhone’s, it looks like we may hit 1.0GHz sooner than one would first expect. Imagine that… a 1.0GHz cellphone. Only time will tell.
The new iPhone is also believed to use the new PowerVR SGX graphics processing unit which provides support for OpenGL ES 2.0. This notably improved performance may require developers to support these multiple device capabilities within their apps.
