iPhone 3G Sales Expected to Increase by Two Fold After Price Drop to $99

After Apple’s price cut announcement on the iPhone 3G lineup, Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster expects the phone’s sales and demands to increase twofold.
This is what happened last year, with the first gen iPhone price drop, from $399, down to $199. Actually, in reality, the sales tripled, but this is taking into consideration sales overseas. Not counting oversea sales, iPhone demand doupled in U.S. markets.
This year, we’re seeing a 50% price cut on the iPhone 3G; Apple’s second generation iPhone.
We’ll see how sales rise once the iPhone 3G S has been released on store shelves, and things really start to get hectic.
