Turn-By-Turn GPS Comes to iPhone and iPod Touch

xWaves has released version 1.2 of their third party GPS software, xGPS, for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
This version includes audible turn-by-turn instructions, utilizes Google Maps or Google Terrain Maps and can be downloaded through Cydia via the MMI repository. This version is still a work in progress and isn’t without some bugs, but using this morning was easy, straight-forward and painless!
They have also released xGPS Manager which allows you to manage maps, GPS logs and more for the xGPS software. You can download maps for offline use and wirelessly transfer them to your iPhone or Touch instead of completing this process on the unit itself.
You may be asking yourself how this will work on the iPod Touch, as it does not have an integrated aGPS chip… Well, you can purchase a module through the xWaves website to add GPS fuctionality to your Touch.
More information on the features of this release can be found HERE.
If you were on the fence about jailbreaking your iPhone/Touch, this may be the final push you need to finally do it!
