Download Tracks from iTunes Over EDGE

Further to the announcement made by Phil Schiller during the Macworld Expo keynote address regarding the iPhone 3G’s ability to purchase and download music and podcasts over the 3G data network, it has been reported that you can also download using an EDGE connection… although you will need time and patience!
For a 9.3MB track, it takes a little over 15 minutes, and you are also limited to files no larger than 10MB.
I guess this is good if you are in a real crunch for some new tunes when not in a 3G or Wi-Fi area, but to quote Guns-N-Roses;
“Need a little patience, yeah
Just a little patience, yeah
Some more patience, yeah”
Have any of you tried this method yet? If so, what kind of download times did you get?
Let us know!

You would have to be REALLY bored to wait 15 minutes for a song to download haha. I’ve heard of this EDGE stuff, but never tried it. I’ll stick with wifi.

Wi-Fi is definitely the better way to go, but at least in a crunch and when you are not in a 3G area, you can still get some music… albeit very very slowly, and you had better really like the song!
