Apple AppStore Reaching in Excess of Over 2.2 Million App Downloads Per Day

by Jody Mitoma on December 9, 2008 at 11:11 am

Even though the AppStore is not even a year old yet, it is still doing absolutely stunning when it comes to sales numbers. It is known that the AppStore shoppers download over 2.2 million applications and games each and every day!

These numbers aren’t given by Apple Inc. itself, however CNBC’s Jim Goldman directed attention towards one of the company’s advertisements in the New York Times today that states iPhone users have “downloaded over 300 million” applications from the AppStore since its opening in July, earlier this year.

Apple Inc. provided numbers with regards to the AppStore on October 21st, stating that there have been over 200 million app downloads, however, since then, we’ve heard nothing official from the company itself. With that in mind, and the information provided by Goldman, it is known that the AppStore sold over 100 million apps in just 45 days, which equates to over 2 million downloads per day.
