The iPhone Application Graveyard is Where All Rejected App Store Apps Rest in Piece

by Jody Mitoma on October 23, 2008 at 2:58 pm

Peter Hosey, especially known for his Growl (App Store) and Adium (pre-App Store) applications, has had the idea of starting a website where he can display any and all iPhone applications that Apple has denied from the App Store, along with reasons as to why they were not accepted. Well, most of them anyway. Apple doesn’t always feel the need to give a reason…

A lot of the first denied applications were pretty big news on Apple blogs, but as too many applications were starting to get denied, this information had become lesser and lesser known to the public.

How many applications do you think were denied from the App Store to this day? Five? Ten?… Guess again. At least ten, definitely more. Not all app developers will announce the disapproval of their application to the App Store, and not all dissapprovals are posted on the iPhone Application Graveyard, albeit there are already eleven apps as of this posting.

If Apple feels the need to reject your application from being sold, or downloaded for free, on the App Store, feel free to get in contact with Mr. Hosey, as he would be delighted to share the news on his graveyard website for the public to view, however here’s to hoping that none of Touch Podium’s readers applications end up in the graveyard.

Here’s a link to the iPhone Application Graveyard.
