I like a good game of poker as much as the next guy, and there are some pretty decent poker games out there, but if there’s one thing all of the existing poker games lack, it’s the ability to pit your poker face against Genghis Khan.
Seattle, WA - Candywriter has announced the release of Imagine Poker 1.2 for iPhone/iPod Touch. Imagine Poker is your ticket to a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament with 21 characters from history whose exaggerated playing styles mimic their personalities.
Go all in against real life strategists like Abe Lincoln, Stalin, and Genghis Khan, or try to outbluff imaginary figures like the Tooth Fairy, Wicked Witch, and Abominable Snowman. With 21 unique opponents in all, Imagine Poker Touch is designed to pack hours of entertainment in your pocket.

It’s an entertaining idea, if gimmicky. The cartoony graphics are bit amateurish, like those of an art student trying to hit their stride, but that can be forgiven for the fact that there seems to be a pretty good game of Texas Hold ‘em underneath, having spent some time being fleshed out as a Mac game prior to its iPhone port. More importantly, it’s cheap at $3, so it’s a bit hard to argue. The free copy of Imagine Poker for the Mac if you unlock all characters is an interesting incentive, though only if you’re a Mac user.
