Google Street View and Walking Directions Hit Mobile; iPhone Gets No Love

Google announced this passed Wednesday that their Maps > Street View is now available via certain flash-enabled cellular phones. This, unfortunately, does not include Apple’s iPhone or iPhone 3G.
It is not known for sure if Google plans on bringing Street View Mobile to Apple’s iPhone, however the company did announce that they are planning on releasing Street View Mobile to other cellphones in the future, but like I said, Street View does not function on iPhone’s or iPod touches as of today. Michael Siliski, Product Manager states, “We’re working on bringing all these new features to other platforms as well, so stay tuned.”
The newest Google Maps for mobile is available now for BlackBerry and many Java-enabled phones. To download it to your phone, visit google.com/gmm from your phone’s web browser or on the desktop.
