The iPhone is growing more and more popular each day, and is becoming more of a web browser to those as months go by. So much more in fact, that when comparing July and August of this year, there is a 58% difference, August being the higher increase of the two.

When comparing Windows web hits with iPhone web hits, its safe to say that one out of every 333 web hits in August came from an iPhone. That’s pretty intense.

You can see the latest data at the New Applications website here.
The company’s surveys are based on data collected from the browsers of
visitors — some 160 million per month — to its customers websites.

In the August survey
issued Monday, the iPhone OS, with a 0.30% share, was the fourth-most
popular operating system on the Web after Windows (90.69%), Mac OS
(7.84%) and Linux (0.92%).

The percentage of iPhone web browser hits will only grow as the device is brought to Russia and China later this year. You also have to keep in mind that there are approximately 1.5 billion computers in this world that are connected to the internet. Apple has only sold 8 million iPhones, which means there are 187.5 x the amount of computers connected to the net than there are iPhones.
