Nintendo Not Brining Any Games to the App Store

by Jody Mitoma on August 28, 2008 at 3:27 pm

A member of the iPod Touch Fans community recently e-mailed Nintendo in regards to games coming to the iPhone App Store.

He had asked if Nintendo was planning on ever releasing any games to the App Store for download. Unfortunately, his response was of the negative.

Hello,

Nintendo only publishes games for use with our systems. It’s very unlikely that you’ll see any of our game titles or characters on a product that’s not made by Nintendo, though there have been a few exceptions.

Sincerely,
Mike Chandler
Nintendo of America Inc.

Looks like we won’t be seeing any Zelda or Mario on the iPhone any time soon — if at all.

Sad…it’s about time some real games hit the app store.

Sad, but wholly unsurprising. The big N doesn’t play well with others.
