Tag Games’ Astro Ranch = Animal Crossing + Harvest Moon on the iPhone

Tag Games is working on a heavy project they call Astro Ranch. The game is set in a 1950’s sci-fi universe.
Now, I don’t know about all of y’all, but I’ve played Harvest Moon for the Xbox and loved it. Animal Crossing on the other hand, I don’t know anything about.
Tap Games’ project is a mix between the two games mentioned above, so if you’ve enjoyed either or, you’re in luck, as a game similar to which is coming to the iPhone around March of next year (2009).
Yeah, that’s a hell of a long time, but just think about how much work a game of such massive length and story would take to create.
You play Sindy Starlight, an intrepid space explorer who crash lands on an alien planet, and has to start her own ranch, while exploring the planet and making nice with its inhabitants.
It’ll be part strategy, with you building up your ranch, and part action, with sections where you pan for gold by shaking the iPhone, and also build fences and lasso runaway animals by tapping the screen.
The game will feature a user-controlled camera, and an original music library. This game will allow you to share and trade items, and send presents and messages to friends who are also playing the game.
Tap Games is also working on another title, Rock’n'Roll, which will most likely be released within the next couple of months.
We’ll keep you informed of any updates.

I’m a fan of both Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. The latter has it’s good parts, but I found it basically amounts to roleplaying indentured servitude.
I wish we could get Harvest Moon for the iPhone. The Gameboy version would be great, but the emulator for the Gameboy just isn’t fast enough to run it well. One with a proper interface for the iPod would be fantastic.
Hope this game can deliver the goods!
