iOlympics - A 2008 Summer Olympics Guide!
by Adam Yan on August 9, 2008 at 7:11 pm
Yesterday, the Beijing Olympics started and I was wondering where I could find a guide to them as there was ton of sports, athletes and times for when the games are being held. Then I stumbled upon a little amazing web application called “iOlympics”. iOlympics shows the current Olympics news, scores and medal standings.
It shows the current events for the day and the upcoming events for the proceeding days. It’ll even give you the specifics of each event such as the time, category, sport and the countries competing against. But if you’re a couch potato and not live in Beijing then your lucky because iOlympics even has a TV guide showing which broadcasting stations are showing which events at what time! There’s a medal tracker but it’s pretty bare now since it’s only the 2nd day of the long contest but expect medal standings on that page once the days pass.
In short, this is a great web based application. Though it’d be more convenient being a native application on the App Store or Cydia/Installer, but none of the less it’s a good quality, ton info application that anybody without a jailbroken device or an iTunes account can utilise.
Here are 8 screens of the web app. (click to enlarge)
Check out the official iPhone iOlympics website.
