Tap Tap Revenge Reaches a Million Downloads!

We’ve all known this big milestone was coming soon but not that soon. Tap Tap Revenge was a huge hit right out of the gate and today hit 1,000,000 App Store downloads. With its catchy title, smooth graphics and catchy tunes it reached the Top 25 on the App Store when it was first released. Since then they have held many contests from the highest scoring player to the best Tap Tap Revenge user-created video, with some awesome prizes such as iTunes gift cards, electronics and even a song spot in the actual Tap Tap Revenge game!

Now for this big milestone they aren’t holding back with the prizes. They’ve already teamed up with Lala.com and are giving away free albums to tons of Tapulous members. They’ve already gave away 136 albums to lucky members and are giving away a thousand more in the coming days. Not to rub it in if you didn’t win, but all the winners will all get an extra 100 free web song downloads; now that’s a lot of content.

Now you’re wondering: They’ve given tons of merchandise away for free and at least 100 000 free songs. How does Tapulous think they’re going to gain revenue? Nothing is certain, but rumor has it that they’re going to hook up with major record labels, get the songs players actually request, and then sell a separate “Pro” version of Tap Tap Revenge on the App Store. Great marketing, eh?

But forget the future, and let’s bask in the pleasure that a great developer and game has hit the million milestone and joins the ranks of the only other million seller, Facebook!
