AT&T Tweaks Deaf Ears, Bumps iPhone Plan $10

by Eric March on July 30, 2008 at 10:04 am

Mirroring their bump for standard data rates, the AT&T Deaf Death Star will apparently also bump up the data plan rates for the hearing impaired by $10, bringing them to $50 for the standard plan, or $65 for the enterprise plan.

As it has been all along, new customers who require this service will still have to sign up for a voice plan when they buy the phone, and then will have to fill out and send in an eligibility form to get the special plan.

Frankly, this has always seemed unnecessarily tedious for the hearing impaired just to get an iPhone, but now it’s unnecessarily tedious and more expensive. Just a little reminder that mobile carriers still hate you, I guess — even if you can’t hear them cuss you out.
