Would you have a look at that. Apple’s got their iPhone and iPod Touch products so hyped up and bought out, Stanford University plans on offering an “iPhone Application Programming” course in the Autumn. For those of you who don’t know, Stanford University is one of the top Universities in America.

TUAW brought up a good point in their post about the course when they’ve stated that Apple currently has an NDA, which does not allow for the University to share any information in regards to the iPhone’s innards. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens there.

If you’d like to take a look at Stanford’s upcoming Autumn course list, click here. The “iPhone Application Programming” course is seen about 25 - 30 down from the top of the list.

Wow. Stanford offering iPhone an programming course. That’s pretty big, though it would indeed be interesting to see how they plan to implement that. Certainly they could at least teach Objective C, which is the majority of what you need to know. Everything beyond that is just the Darwin/Cocoa Touch APIs, plus the assorted other components, which are child’s play if you can master ObC.
