Rogers Offers Online Ordering

Today’s iPhone launch across Canada was pretty intense, mirroring much of the same sort of thing seen in the US, but not everyone could get to the store, and not everyone is within a reasonable distance from their local Rogers outlet. It’s fortunate then that Rogers has decided to offer up the coveted Jesus Phone in Canada through their website, and from the look of things, the lineups here — of data packets — are even larger.
As I type, the Rogers site is incredibly unresponsive. My wife was lucky enough to get through earlier today, but it seems now that people are home from work, those who didn’t want to stop off at a Rogers Wireless outlet or didn’t want to head back out for one, have been pounding the Rogers online ordering site to order online. Good luck clicking that link though; there seem to be so many people trying to access it right now that it’s bogged down to an absolute crawl. Expect extreme delays into the double-digits — assuming it doesn’t just time out altogether.
However, when all the dust settles and things return more or less to normal, Canadian iPhone hopefuls will get their chance to order their iPhone for $199 or $299 (8 and 16gb respectively), pair it with a voice plan, add the $30 6gb data plan, plus whatever extras they want, and get their iPhone delivered right to their home with free shipping. Not a bad little deal, is it?
