Penalty If You Do Not Activate Your iPhone 3G Within 30 Days of Purchase

I don’t know how one could go 30 days without activating an iPhone 3G when it’s apparently not possible to leave the store unless you’ve activated your iPhone 3G right there and then (Do Apple Retail Store employees allow you to spend full months on end in a back room, sleeping, eating, blogging..?), however, an AP report suggests that there will be a way for people to get unactivated iPhones. Be careful when doing so, because it is being reported that if you do not activate the iPhone within 30 days of purchase, you will be penalized.
The amount of the penalty, or how AT&T will even know who you are since your iPhone wasn’t activated is still unclear to us all.
We’ll keep you informed on any updates on this front.
