Griffin Set To Release iPhone 3G Cases

If there was any doubt that case vendors got dimensional specs for the iPhone 2.0 early — and Griffin was prominent among those rumoured to have been a recipient — then this should put the issue to rest: They have announced that they are primed and ready to start offering iPhone 3G cases across seven of their existing product lines, the Wave, NuForm, Elan Form, Elan Clip, Elan Holster, FlexGrip, and Streamline. (The case mold shown in the linked rumour article above was for the FlexGrip.)
These are all simply slight retoolings of existing cases Griffin already offers for the first generation iPhone and other mobile devices, but the new form factor of Apple’s latest and greatest is different enough that their first-gen cases won’t quite fit properly around the 3G, so upgraders, you might as well chuck your Griffin case in with your G1 when you sell, hand down or pay forward.
Griffin says that these new cases should be available through their online store by the end of the month, and will be sold in Apple Stores on launch day, July 11th, and will fetch $14.99 USD for the FlexGrip, $24.99 USD for Elan Clip and NuForm, $29.99 USD for Elan Form, Elan Holster, and Streamline, and $24.99-34.99 USD for the Wave. NuForm and Elan Form have the benefit of Griffin’s EasyDock design, which features a sliding bottom portion that slips off to let you dock your iPhone without removing the case completely.
