200+ iPhone App Dev Projects on Elance.com. Post Your Ideas and Find Devs.

Elance is a freelance programming, web design, graphic design web page where you can find people to do work for you for a cost. You come up with the idea, post it on Elance, and have people bid on your project. You pick the developer, then pay them before, during, or after the project has been completed by them.

I’ve used Elance.com service in the past, and it works wonders. I posted up a project a couple years ago, and got 10+ responses in less than a weeks time.

The reason for this story this afternoon is because I’d just like to announce that Elance.com would be a phenomenal place to find Object-C developers to create iPhone applications ready for the App Store. You come up with a fantastic application idea, then find a developer on Elance, pay the developer to make the application for you, then sell your application on the Apple App Store via iTunes and iPhone. Instant profit.

It’s the perfect plan, and if I can think of something innovative, I will definitely post it up on Elance as soon as possible. There are hundreds of thousands of iPhone developers out there, so if you’ve got a great idea, be sure to take advantage of Elance right away and have someone build your app. You will not regret it.

I, personally do not know how to program in Object-C, thus Elance is the perfect place for me to locate programmers to build an application if I ever have any ideas that I think will do well. I suggest all of you do the same.

Do keep in mind, programming is an expensive business, and I don’t want any of you expecting anything cheap. Programmers usually pay by the hour, thus the longer the project takes to complete, the more you will be paying them. I’d expect the average iPhone app to cost around the $200 – $500 mark, with larger programming projects asking for up to $1000+. However, do keep in mind that once the application is fully completed and ready for the App Store, I’d project that you would get your money back, and a pretty great income in return.

Check out an Elance story in regards to the iPhone here, and here.

$200 to build an iphone application? Do you think people living in the 3rd world are crazy? You’re going to get a piece of crap for that price. It takes at least a week to build an application – probably more like a month. So that’s 40 or 160 hours of work at least. An app also doesn’t just require one person to do all of the work. You can easily expect a team of 3 people to build the app for you. You expect to pay 33 cents per hour to these people to work round the clock for you? Think again. They can read English and can certainly see public blogs like these so are not going to appreciate getting taken advantage of. Welcome to the real world!

Yeah, upon further investigation, a fairly moderately basic game will cost between $1800 – $2500.
