Apple’s Back to School Event ‘08 Best Ever

Those of you who are seeking, or are already engaged in higher education and have been mulling the idea of getting some flavour of Mac will love this year’s Back to School promo, which was unveiled this morning, and as predicted, it’s even better than last year.

Qualifying buyers can choose either a free 8GB iPod Touch, or a $299 rebate on a qualifying Mac product, which this year includes the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac. You can also use the rebate towards any 8GB iPod Nano ($199 rebate, plus $100 towards the Mac), or 8-32GB iPod Touch. All you have to do is be a qualifying individual, which means either a student (accepted or attending) or faculty member of an institute of higher education, an employee of a public or private K-12 school, a Qualified Homeschooler, or a current elected or appointed school board or PTA/PTO member within the contiguous 50 states and the District of Columbia. (Offer not valid outside the continental USA.)

The promo runs from now (June 3rd) to September 15th, 2008, and rebate claims must be submitted by October 15th. (CT and RI residents are eligible for an instant rebate due to differing regulations there.) so there’s plenty of time, but it’s never good to wait ’til the last minute, because you know that’s what everyone does which means your order and rebate will probably get delayed as everyone clogs the order lines during the last week of the promo.
