Canadian Apple Employees Being Prepped for Secret Meeting

While the general rumours of the iPhone 2.0 are really starting to come in thick and fast, rumours surrounding the iPhone’s release in Canada are also starting to materialize in a more rapid fashion.
Today it was revealed that Ontario Apple Store employees are being asked to make a special trip down to their Markham regional HQ for some discussions. Said discussions are being veiled by a blanket of super secrecy, but there are indications that, perhaps among other things, they will primarily revolve around upcoming Apple (read: possibly iPhone 2.0) developments. What makes this meeting unusual is that ordinary meetings are usually held by teleconference rather than in person, so this speaks to something big. Attendees are being stum when asked about specifics, so there’s absolutely no solid confirmation here, but given the meeting’s close proximity to the WWDC and the ever-more-credible June 9th iPhone 2.0 rollout rumour, it’s all but a no brainer if the allegations turn out to have merit.
We have already covered rumours in the past that have suggested a June rollout for the Canadian iPhone (…and September, and May…) but this is the first time a new rumour has popped up that corroborated any of the ones that came before it, and while there’s still very little to hang your hat on just now, it does lend just a touch more credence to the idea that we Canucks may be seeing Apple’s coveted cell — likely in 3G flavour — arrive north of 42 in a more legitemate fashion about the same time as our neighbours to the south. I for one am crossing numerous appendages in hopes that not everyone who attends this meeting adheres to the terms of an NDA.
