Instinct vs. iPhone: Sprint is at it Again

We’ve spoken about Sprint writing off a $100 million check to sport an ad campaign aimed specifically at bashing the iPhone in favor of Samsung’s Instinct, which runs on Sprint’s network. Well, they aren’t finished just yet. Nope, they’re at it again with several more (see here) of their ads aimed at the Apple iPhone.
This latest ad shows the Samsung Instinct showing off features that the iPhone doesn’t technically officially have, such as streaming live TV, video recording, accessing a music store while not around Wi-Fi, GPS, and running on Sprint’s broadband (3G) network compared to AT&T’s slower EDGE.
Check out the ad just below:
The sad thing is, Apple’s second-generation iPhone will kick Samsung’s Instinct ass outta the yellow-sun-lit ocean. Check out the list of rumored additions to Apple’s next-gen iPhone below that have been bashed in Sprint’s most recent television ads:
• Live TV: knowing Apple’s aversion to television, this one will probably not make it to iPhone 2.0.
• Internet speed: For sure, 3G on the iPhone 99.9%
• GPS: High probabilities of GPS making it to the iPhone 2.0, given the standard integration in last-generation chipsets, the low-power consumption and Apple’s recent focus on geographic location.
• Video capture: Also very high probabilities. The current iPhone can capture video already, and Apple was most probably saving it for the next generation, to both make it right, and as a sales bullet point.
• Music store anywhere: The current iPhone limitation of iTunes Music Store access only through Wi-Fi will most probably disappear in the 3G version as well.

Sprint overcharged my small (US) company for over $50,000.00. We caught them doing it and now they refuse to refund the over-payments. You can read the full story at http://www.sprint-really-sucks.com
