Touch Podium’s Summerboard Themes Round-Up #05 (25 Themes)

Posted by Jody Mitoma on May 14, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Hey folks! Today’s been a really really hectic day for me! I’ve been posting like crazy, trying to empty the news pool, and well, I think I did a pretty fine and dandy job!

I’m ending my posting-night with the Summerboard Themes Round-Up like I promised at the bottom of our four month report card. This month’s round-up is our biggest one yet, with 25 themes in this 5th edition!

This month the themes aren’t in any specific order, because, well, I got lazy. But that’s okay, because all the themes are simply stunning in their own way anyway! It would be too much of a challenge to order them from best to worst… Especially when there barely is a “worst”.

So, without further ado, here we go with the themes!

Don’t forget to click on each image to view a larger version.

Neue by Louie Mantia

This theme essentially replaces the theme originally known simply as “Louie Mantia”. There are a few alternates as well, along with Installer and SummerBoard icons. Enjoy!

Shinicons by Jon

Comes with a template! Inspired by David Lanham’s Somatic. big_smile
BTW, I am working on another version of Amora because the calendar does not fit the text.

Agua by David Lanham and Louie Mantia

A template is obviously being requested here, so here it is: http://dznr.org/wjde

I do plan on making third party icons in the future, but school is approaching, and I may not have time to do them. Use this template to create icons for the apps you use. Feel free to release icons made with this template, but do so in this thread as to not clutter up the rest of this section with various Agua-iPhone-related releases.

Soft™ by shubham

Presenting………… Soft™!
There are 40+ icons provided for two variations, Soft™ and Soft™ Light.
The wallpaper and dock in the preview are from Jon’s Plexicons theme. However, the dock is flipped vertically.
Name suggested by Jon.
Ideas for Weather and YouTube icons from kee440.
Light version suggested by toffeenut.

Black (Dashboard style) calendar icon for Kate (FaceLift) users. Place the Info.plist file in the Soft™ folder in /var/mobile/Library/Summerboard/Themes.
Thanks to all the members of the MT2 Forum that helped me out by giving comments and suggestions.

Space Camtessa by MacDevil

Well, it’s finally finished! Here is my Summerboard theme based off the CMT iPhone icon set made by Ruiz (http://www.camtessadesign.com/):

The theme includes custom wallpaper, dock, status bar and icons for 112 apps (as well as numerous alternate icons).

Credits
Not all of the icons in this set were made by me. I made the wallpaper, the dock, and the lock screen wallpaper. I also compiled the theme. The icons for all of the original iPhone and iPod touch apps were made by Ruiz (though some of these icons are provided as alternates in this set). The rest of the icons were made by me.

Many of the new icons were made using elements from Toffeenut’s Black Agua theme. That theme can be foundhere. Thanks to Toffeenut for her permission to borrow from his theme.

Cophland by AceOhosa

A bunch of things have come up, so I’m tossing this out there as is in hopes someone will make it into the full conversion I originally planned. However, all of the icons pictured are direct rips of Iconfactory’s famous Copland series, and I’m not redistributing them. There is a template included with button (pictured), blank, calendar, and control panel styles. There’s also the slider and background, status bar, wallpaper, and dock included. Mod it, make it part of your russian shareware, redistribute it as your own, I don’t care. Just try to do something neat in tribute to Mac OS 8-9 is all I ask.

The package contains the template.
Feel free to provide your icons in this thread!
And to provide good icons for new icons. If you know what I mean. ;-)

- Thanks & Credits:
Just to kediashubham. For his great Illuminous Theme-Mod.
Cheers,
ubik

Illuminous by Shubbham

The official release of this theme is in the Agua thread as requested by Louie Mantia.

However, to prevent the thread from being a chaos from requests and comments for the Agua theme as well as this one, I’ve opened this thread for you all to posts anything and everything about the Illuminous theme.

Note: As mentioned in the Readme file and the release of the theme in the Agua thread, all credits for the 3rd party icons made go to the fantastic artists in the MacThemes2 forums that made the original icon. Please let me know if you don’t want your icon modded and I will remove it asap. smile

theme(RED) by smallville and Tollboy

Tollboy and I are really glad to release the first version of our »theme(RED)«, although it is a kind of prerelease.

The theme contains a springboard wallpaper and replacements for the dock and statusbar. Tollboy adapted all of his glyph icons for the »theme(RED)«. I add some wallpapers for the lockscreen and springboard generelly, a new badge and a webclip overlay, which fits great into the theme.
But we are not finished yet. Some important icons are still missing. We are also busy to work on a battery screen, a new calculator and some other goodies like replacement images for the taskbar notifier. If you would like to help us or have some great ideas to make the theme(RED) even better, you’re welcome. Just drop us a line here, to this e-mail address or post you work here.

Notice: See source link below for additional downloads for this theme.

glyphs v1.2 by Tollboy

When I began this theme I had in mind to create very simple glyps
that anyone could use for their own themes. Some of the glyphs I
created did become a bit more intricate than I would have liked,
even though they are all pretty simple. There are currently a
total of 75 glyphs in this theme

Anyone is free to use these glyphs with any of their own personal
themes I only asked that you give me credit and link back to this post.

P.S. I know there are a ton of apps out there, I am still making more
of these, feel free to post requests.

All Stock Icons are included in the zip, third party icons will be posted in this thread as I or others create them. I suggest that you turn off icon labels.

Creating an icon from the template isn’t as simple as with most themes, I will outline the steps as best as I can in a new post on this thread (when I get time).

Pellets by Mac Guru and Jm9760

This theme was originally created by Mac Guru. He made the base, and a lot of the glyphs. With his permission, I touched up on a few of his icons, and expanded the set with a bunch of my own,* I also made the dock and wallpaper. The download includes all standard iPhone and iPod touch icons, as well as many third-party icons, and a template to make your own.

*A few of the glyphs were made by Toll Boy, so credit to him for that.

Phew! These always take me forever to write! I wonder why… ;)

As I’m sure you’ve noticed if you checked out the source links, all of the themes posted in this summerboard theme round-up are from the MacThemes community.

Aren’t those some gorgeous summerboard themes? Man, either it’s been too long since I’ve last posted a summerboard themes round-up, or you guys over at the MacThemes community have got some mad skills. :)

Hope you enjoyed this edition of Touch Podium’s Summerboard Themes Round-Up!

Expect another round-up next month sometime!
