Lighten Your Wallet Thanks to the iPhone/iPod Touch via WalletCards

The iPhone is not only a photo viewer, media player, gaming device, digital camera, internet tablet, and cellphone. No, it is also a membership card holder.
Albert Alberts has come up with a novel way to rid his wallet of said membership cards with his iPhone. He scanned all cards, front and back, and uploaded them to a specially-created album within iPhoto. The result was an accurate depiction of the membership cards’ barcodes on the iPhone’s multi-touch display.
That’s right, with the devices larger screens, it is possible to take photos of your membership cards - such as your swim pass, or student ID - and slap that photo on your iPhone/iPod Touch. This gives you easy access to the cards, without having to actually phyisically carry them in your wallet. The barcodes on the iPhone’s screen will even scan perfectly, as if they were being scanned from the phyiscal card itself. The more cards you hold, the more useful this tip will be for you! But please, for heaven’s sake, do NOT put images of your credit cards, SIN cards, or Passports on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Now how increadibly stupid would that be…

I will most likely be doing this myself as well. My wallet is becoming quite the bulky piece.
