Four Months In: A Report Card
Posted by Jody Mitoma on May 14, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Good evening, fellow Touch Podium readers. Eric and I got our fourth report card today! That’s right, we’re celebrating 1/3rd of an entire year here at Touch Podium, already! Man, time flies.
There has been a hell of a lot of rumors and news in regards to the iPhone stock depleting, and the upcoming release of the next generation 3G iPhone. This has made it a little tough for Eric and I to scrunge up the news as soon as it hits the streets, but we’re back on track as of today. Eric and I, just earlier this week, had over 40 stories in our news pool, but just didn’t have the time to write about it all. As most of you have probably already noticed, within the past two or three days Eric and I have been working our asses of, posting a minimum of 15 stories each day. Believe us, we’re glad to be back on track, but with the upcoming release of the second-generation iPhone getting closer and closer, and the App Store immenent, we know the news will only pile up again. I know I’ll be dedicating entire days on Touch Podium, come June.
So anyway, as you returning visitors have probably already come to notice, Eric and I have made it a monthly objective to post our statistics on each of our monthly anniversaries and share it with you all. Today brings the fourth month of Touch Podium’s establishment, so go on and check out our up-to-date, and monthly statistics below.
Age: 4 months (121 days)
Blog Posts: 686 (including this one) - avg. 5.6 posts/day
Total site hits as of 05/14/08 @ 12:00pm: 339,830 (hits within the last month: 99,820)
Average hits/day for the month: 3,500 - 4,500
RSS subscribers: 264
E-Mail feed subscribers: 40
Affiliates: 19
Returning visitors: ~700/day
Hey, check it out. We managed to rake in just short of 100,000 hits within the past month! Not bad, man. Not bad at all. I hope we can continue to bring in such a large reader-base. In fact, I’ll make it my goal to get 150,000 hits between today and the fifth Touch Podium Report Card on June 14th.
As you can see, returning visitors hasn’t raised much since our last report card, getting an average of 20 or so more daily readers. I’d like to get 1,000 returning visitors by our next report card, so I will do my best to advertise the website wherever I can, and bring you the news as soon as possible.
These past few days, Eric and I have noticed that we’ve been getting over 4,000 hits/day. Not only so, but we’re beginning to notice that this is becoming the new trend here at Touch Podium! Cool! It felt like we were stuck at approximately 3,000 - 3,500 hits/day for the longest time. I’ll make it my goal to raise our daily hits to an average of 5,000 before our next report card.
Eric and I know we’ve been a little slow on posting some of the news here lately, but please bare in mind that we’ve both got jobs we need to attend, and social lives which we both put first. I will do my best to try and wake up earlier each day, so that I can post a few stories before heading to school in the morning, and post a few more stories before work each day. When I get home at night, I usually search for more news, and post whatever I’ve come up with before heading to bed for the day.
We would like to take a minute to thank all our tipsters and commenters whom have been helping us throughout the days. We enjoy reading and replying to your comments, so please keep them coming.
Also, keep the tips rolling in, folks! Don’t feel obligated to write about an application or game that you are personally working on, either. We will write about it with pleasure. Send us a tip at our tips line at tips@touchpodium.com anytime.
I have another round-up of beautiful summerboard themes coming up, which will be posted up later tonight, so look out for that! This round-up is our biggest yet, with 25 summerboard themes in total!
