Register Hardware tells us that Apple is looking for 3G-savvy iPhone field testers in Australia. Specifically someone with “technical understanding and experience with GSM/GPRS, Edge, CDMA and UMTS”.
This information was found via a job advertisement posted on the company’s website, though it’s unclear how long the job description has been up. The position is based in Sydney, and the successful candidate will work with carriers to gain their approval for the iPhone to be used on their networks.
Not only so, but Apple is also looking for iPhone Field Validation Engineers in the UK according to identical criteria as the Australian position. In Germany, it’s looking for an iPhone Certification Project Manager who “will apply his/her detailed technical knowledge of wireless standards (3G, Wi-Fi) to understand, prioritize and resolve issues found during certification”.
