Apple Addresses iPhone Syncing and Backups

by Eric March on May 3, 2008 at 7:46 pm

iPhone BackupPutting aside for the moment the likes of TimeCapsule for the jailbreakers, iTunes itself does have the ability to perform backups of your core iPhone and iPod Touch data — contact list, calendar events, that sort of thing.  Apple have finally addressed this particular topic in a new knowledgebase article that talks about backing up and restoring your device, and goes over the difference between backups and synchronization.  For those of you who have not bothered with jailbreaking and kept their device stock, or for those who just want to know more about the topic, it’s a good read that every iPhone and iPod Touch user should at least become familiar with.
