iTunes Movies Now Available Same Day as DVD Release

iTunes movies aren’t available until about 30 to 45 days after they’ve been released on DVD at your local retail shop. Actually, they weren’t… until now. That’s right, Apple has made a change - and a good one at that. It is now possible to download the DVD you’ve long been awaiting to be released on DVD, right through the iTunes Store the same day it is released on DVD at retail stores.

Multiple studios’ films — 20th Century Fox, The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and more — will now be delivered to iTunes customers at the same time that DVD buyers can snag them in stores. “American Gangster” and “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” are two of the first movies available on the new ship schedule.

Have a peak at the Apple Press Release released May 1st (yesterday).
