iPhoneMatters.com Interviews Clueless Apple Employees About the 3G iPhone - Found Out Nothing

The iPhone Matters website team interviewed Apple store employees on April 29th.

iPhone Matters decided to take matters into their own hands, and see what their friendly local Apple store employes had to say about the product they’ll be selling in just over a months time. Here’s what they found out — or, didn’t.

1. Apple employees aren’t allowed to talk about upcoming products
According to one of our interviewees, Apple employees can be fired on the ground of even mentioning an updated iPhone. Makes sense to us- nobody wants to purchase a product they know will be outdated in a few weeks.

2. There are absolutely no signs from Apple confirming a 3G iPhone
Seems a few employees weren’t aware of Rule #1. A few told us what they thought the next iPhone would be like, but they also confirmed that Apple has provided them with no information whatsoever regarding a new iPhone. They also said this wasn’t out of the ordinary: they had been informed of the official iPhone launch date just three days before shipments started arriving.

As you can see, the Apple store employees are pretty clueless about the 3G iPhone. They know nothing more than your average Apple/iPhone fan. Looks like we won’t be getting any behind-the-scene secrets anytime soon.
