How To: Putting Hidden Videos on Your iPhone/iPod Touch

by Jody Mitoma on April 28, 2008 at 10:33 am

fcp_icon96.gifiPod Touch Fans member Totally 1337 recently made a post on the community forums, explaining how to upload ‘hidden’ videos onto your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Needed:

  • OpenSSH
  • MobileFinder
  • avPlayer
  • “Secret” videos
  • WinSCP

Steps:

  1. SSH into \Applications
  2. Copy your video into this folder
  3. On your iPod, install MobileFinder and avPlayer
  4. Open MobileFinder on your iPod and go to \Applications
  5. Click on the video
  6. Hit “modify”
  7. Click “Open With” and click avPlayer
  8. Your “secret” video will begin playing!

These videos will not be visible from within the native Videos application.

Do note that the videos must be in .MP4 format for this to work.

Lets leave it at that. I won’t ask what kind of videos you’d be wanting to hide. ;)
