Black iPhone 2.0 “Spy Shot” Isn’t
by Eric March on April 26, 2008 at 1:17 pm
One rumor down, three dozen to go. Remember that mysterious “spy shot” of a possible black iPhone 2.0? The one Engadget had it on good authority would indeed be the one we’d see with its debut soon? Turns out it was just a “spy shot” of a protective rear casing. The shell is currently only available in Hong Kong, and is available in glossy black (as the original photo showed) and a silver three-quarter shell that looks just like the iPhone’s own back, but stops short of the antenna cover. There’s no information on pricing, but you’d probably pay as much for shipping as for the case, should you really want one.
Of course, that’s not to say that the iPhone 2.0 will not be all-black as is still currently circulating around the rumor mill. It just won’t look like this. It would be interesting to see if Apple really does give the case a refresh though — beyond making it slightly larger to accomodate 3G and possibly a larger battery.
Meanwhile, click on the article image above and to the left for a larger shot of the cases.
