Real Estate Search on iPhone![]()
In the market for some prime Northern California property? Tech-savvy real-estate firm Intero can let you know what’s available with their iPhone-tailored real-estate search engine known as Terabitz. Search by location or MLS number, enter your price range, a few particulars like number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and what sort of property you’re after, and Terabitz will come back with your results in list or map form, with driving directions and photo galleries of the property where available. So far they only cover the NorCal area, but plan to expand soon.

For those of you who are the reason Pokemon isn’t dead yet, you’ll appreciate the forthcoming iPokedex from TouchRev Team member hockeypanda32, which will contain pictures and information on, presumably, every Pokemon in existence. Even that alcoholic one you can never invite to family gatherings. iPokedex is still in closed beta, but expect to be accosted with it soon on the TouchRev repo (http://touchrevteam.com/repo.xml).

Free Txt Msg w DropTXT
The much maligned DavTeam have released another app that they hope will receive a warmer welcome than iLottery did — and this one does seem to have a certain amount of utility to it. DropTXT is a text messaging client for the free text messaging service TxtDrop, which does not require a VoIP service and works over any WiFi or EDGE on the Touch and iPhone. Although it doesn’t work with every provider, there’s no list of the providers it does work with, so you’ll just have to try it out for yourself. You can grab it from the DavTeam repo (http://davteam.com/repo.xml).

I Want to Write About Excuses.app, But I’m Washing My Merkin
While we’re on the subject of DavTeam, member Onefan decided to take it upon himself to write a version of the Random Excuses Generator for the iPhone and Touch. I doubt much description is really necessary here, since it pretty much does what it says. It’s currently in open beta, so you can grab the latest beta from the DavTeam repo (http://davteam.com/repo.xml) — but I’m sure they’ll understand if you’re busy cleaning your tile grout.

ToggleBacklight
Sometimes, in dark settings, you just want to turn down the brightness, but digging through the settings app gets to be a pain in the glutes if you do it often enough. Fortunately, ToggleBacklight offers a one-touch solution, allowing you to dim your backlight to its lowest setting with a touch of the app’s icon, and return it to your last used setting with another. That’s pretty much it, really. Grab it from the ModMyiFone source (http://modmyifone.com/installer.xml).

ClickOnce Update to 0.0.2
…will apparently get your device stuck in a loop. Install it from the iPhone Cake repo (http://iphonecake.com/src/all) at your own risk. That is all.

Give Your Firmware an Identity Crisis![]()
Firmware.app’s sole purpose is to spoof your firmware version. I’m just going to go ahead and admit that I have no idea why you’d want to do this, but I suspect it has something to do with development. Or possibly the apocalypse. Whatever it’s for, it isn’t out yet, but you can read about it here as you build a bomb shelter — just in case.

ReadBurner Gives You Hot, Hot News![]()
![]()
ReadBurner is another web-based Google Reader RSS reader, but this one does things a little differently. ReadBurner’s main goal is to give you the latest and greatest by keeping track of what news stories are being shared the most by other Google Reader users. It also gives you the most recent and up-and-coming blog stories in a simple, easy to use interface. You can get to it in Mobile Safari by pointing it at http://m.readburner.com.

iMemory Updated to 0.4.1![]()
This Concentration-cum-Brain-Trainer has had a small update to 0.4.1 that fixes the hall f fame and now correctly adds the time to your high score submission. It’s available on the iSpazio repo (http://repo.ispazio.net).

FlyTunes Triples Station Count
Turns out that FlyTunes is serious about this whole streaming radio thing, as they’ve just added over 320 stations to the already bulging roster through a partnership with AccuRadio. That gives you almost 500 stations streamed directly to your iPhone and iPod Touch over WiFi or EDGE. FlyTunes CEO Sam Abadir seems to believe terrestrial radio’s in big trouble now if they don’t wise up and get with the program. He was recently quoted as saying, “Today’s announcement that AccuRadio is bringing over 320 stations to millions of iPhone and iPod Touch owners proves that mobile Internet radio is now ready for prime time — and I expect terrestrial broadcasters to follow this trend shortly.” Perhaps they will join in, Sam — once they finish trying to beat streaming radio to a digital pulp.

Conceited Software Gets Bossed Around
Wondering why Conceited Software’s app are showing up on the BigBoss repo? Turns out it’s because Conceited have thrown in their lot with BigBoss — which I suppose makes them BigConceitedBoss. I’ve worked for a few of those, and it’s never pretty — but this merging at least does get one more repo off the streets and cleans up your Installer source list just a wee bit.

Xiaxue Wags a Bejeweled Fingernail at iPhone
If you thought Miss Teen South Carolina was a moron, you haven’t met Xiaxue. There are just some subjects that bloggers that shouldn’t open their traps about, and there’s nothing I can say about her that the video below doesn’t say in far more volume than I care to go into in an issue of Touching Up, so why don’t we just point and laugh at the retard?

All done! Wasn’t that tasty? Now go wash up and I’ll serve up dessert. We’re having chipped beef pudding!

Firmware.app is mostly so you can install “1.1.3 only” packages from installer on 1.1.4.
