RemoteNotes Lets You Edit Your Notes … Remotely

remotenotes.pngRemoteNotes 0.0.1-1 is a handy little app that lets you use your desktop web browser to connect to your iPhone or iPod Touch and edit your notes from the comfort of a real keyboard. The benefit here should be pretty obvious: No fiddling with a virtual keyboard, plus somewhat easier maintenance of your notes.

The interface is pretty plain-Jane, not that it really needs to be flashy for what it does. Upon loading, you get a splash screen, and then a simple white screen with brief instructions on how to connect to your device through your browser. There’s nothing to do device-side, it just sits there and effectively acts as a purpose-built web server. Connecting via your favourite browser will come up with a basic display of your current notes, a delete button beside each one, and a small button to create a new note. Simply click on a note to edit it, or the new button to start writing a new one. Submit or cancel as you see fit and there you have it.

It’s still in its early stages of development, but as it stands it provides a functional way to edit your notes over WiFi using your desktop computer. If this is something you could use, go ahead and grab it.

RemoteNotes is available on the BigBoss repository; http://thebigboss.org/repo.xml
