New Dev: The Xteam - Working on Periodic Table; May Port Firefox in Future
by Jody Mitoma on March 28, 2008 at 9:43 pm
On March 25th iamcanadian posted a thread on the iPod Touch Fans community forums introducing his new team of coders. They call themselves: The Xteam.
The team members consist of:
Manager: Lazyasada
Programmers: Iamcanadian, RazerM
Graphics: ur_so_beautiful
iamcanadian writes:
So, Lazyasada, ur_so_beautiful, RazerM, and I have created a dev team.
We code in javascript, and we are planning to make a periodic table
app, for all the kids that have ipod touches and are in school.
Like he said, the team is currently working on a Periodic Table for the iPhone and iPod Touch, which would be fantastic for those currently taking Science classes in school.
Later that same day, iamcanadian replied to a quote which read “Port firefox or openoffice. Loads of people will love you.”, and wrote back:
Again in the future might look into.(most likely firefox) but its not going to be easy, and not to mention we use jiggy so would have to learn obj-c for that.
Nothing to get too excited about, seeing as he’s currently got other projects on his table, and even then, would have to learn obj-c, which is not an easy programming language to learn, at all. Needless to say, it’ll be a couple months minimum, before we see any Mobile Firefox app for the iPhone if he and his team decide to work something out. It is possible that someone else is working on getting Firefox working on the iPhone/Touch for release with the App Store. You never know.
Again, don’t get your hopes up. He did say that he might look into it… If he does, I’m sure he’ll be including the other two members of the Xteam he’s currently a part of. Check out their Xteam website to see what else they’re currently working on. (Unfortunately, at the time of this post, all their asking for on the site so far, is donations…)
Can’t wait to see what else they’ve got planned out for us. Best of luck with everything, team!
