Kevin Rose (Founder of Digg.com) Shares His iPhone Rumors, Again

Posted by Jody Mitoma on March 25, 2008 at 12:00 am

Kevin Rose, the founder of the oh-so-popular; Digg.com, had taken the time to share some rumors he was given by anonymous sources when the iPhone was still without known specs, back in the day. It, however, turned out being mostly false information.

Recently, Kevin went at it again - this time - sharing his rumors about the upcoming iPhone Pro - so he calls it. In other words, the second generation iPhone, or iPhone G2.

Here is part of a Diggnation episode where Kevin and Alex talk iPhone Pro:

In the video, Kevin says:

  • This information came from multiple sources.
  • Programs cannot run in the background. Only one program can run at a time. (This was already known)
  • 3G Support being added in a few month.
  • Apple does not want an instant messenger competitor.
  • Will be a camera on front, AND back of new iPhone. Video chat.

By all means, don’t believe anything you hear from Kevin, as he does not work with or have any relation with Apple Inc.

just doenst make sense… Y would apple waste so much time on the big iphone/ipod touch firmware 2.0, if they are just going to make an all new iphone…but i guess if its an iphone”pro”, it would incinuate its not a truly whole new iphone just an improved model with better newer functions, one that would run on the same firmware as the current iphone…

Not entirely sure myself, but it may have basically the same OS, just with newly included features mentioned above, and then some (that haven’t been mentioned or rumored yet!) :)

Bob, I’m installing the Vista Maximus theme tonight. ;)

Kevin’s predictions haven’t exactly painted him a clairvoyant. I’d be very surprised if there was a second camera and a video chat feature. That just doesn’t strike me as sensible rigth now.
