Touchmod’s Headset Prototype Video / SIP-VoIP 1.2 Released
by Jody Mitoma on March 22, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Check out Touchmod’s new headset that is currently in the works!
Our headset design not only have a built-in high-sensitivity Mic and a “call-receive” button, but you can also control the Touch in your pocket with this single button, as the video demonstrates above. The functions Ridax implemented are quite tricky: one button for 8 functions:
- home screen and single click: start media player,
- song playing and single click: pause the song,
- song paused and single click: play the song,
- song playing or paused and double click: jump to next song,
- song playing or paused and long click: lower the volume,
- … long click again: raise the volume,
- incoming call received on SIP-VoIP and click: accept call,
- enough of speaking, click: finish call.
As if that weren’t enough updates from Touchmod, they’ve also just released version 1.2 of SIP-VoIP yesterday evening!
SIP-VoIP Changelog v1.2:
- Added feedback from the sip-layer to get a better error-handling.
- Added daemon mode (pressing home button keeps SIP-VoIP running in the background). To close SIP-VoIP completely, first disconnect from your SIP-server then click “Quit”.
- Changed location of account.xml. The file is now in /private/var/mobile/sip-voip.xml to avoid saving problems for firmware version 1.1.3 and up.
- Added ring-tone support (add your own .mp3 into the folder /Applications/SIP-VoIP.app).
- more pictures in the skin, and some pictures have a new name. this was needed because of the better handling (more pictures needed).
Keep reading to check out a summerboard screen of the app, and the source link.

1.2 works great. I already updated my Ultramarine Skin to 1.1 for this release.
