ZiPhone 2.6 Now Does It All — Including Touch

by Eric March on March 14, 2008 at 10:56 am

Zibree’s Touch arrived. 10 minutes later he found out why ZiPhone wasn’t working on it. Now he has released version 2.6 of his much-touted jailbreaker, and it now features full support for the iPod Touches running 1.1.4 firmware!

As promised, here you go !
For the jailbreak to work you have to
restore to 1.1.4 before running ziphone.
45 seconds of ZiPhone and you are done !
I tested it on my 32gb iPod.
I told you I would not let you down :)
Enjoy!

It looks like my jailbreak tutorial for the 32-gig iPod Touch has finally become (mostly) obsolete — and I couldn’t be happier to finally have a proper, fast, native way to jailbreak the Touch! Head on over to the ZiPhone page and download it for yourself.

Ahh -this is where I got to too. Look at the advanced options - there’s a special button to fix some kind of NVRAM problem. I think that should work, although I ran out of time so wont try it again until tonight.

On a mac I do not see the NVRAM. I see it under file in the tool bar but it sits there looking for ipod with no success.

Have you done a complete restore to 1.1.4? As I understand it, this is where it works best. (I haven’t tried it on my Touch yet, but it worked perfectly on my iPhone when I did a restore to 1.1.4)

Tried again using the NVRAM option and it worked fine.

    All working fine now. Kewl.

Anyone know if there’s an install for the “January software rip off”? I bought it, but have messed up my iTunes so that it doesnt want to re-install the 6 apps.

Do you have the latest version of iTunes installed? Have you tried restoring back to 1.1.4 and performing the jailbreak again?
