Stuck in Recovery Mode? iBricker Can Help!
by Jody Mitoma on March 4, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Are you a jailbreaker? Is your iPod Touch in recovery mode? Even if it isn’t in recovery mode now – it may go into recovery mode unexpectedly in the future, so I suggest you bookmark this post for that matter.
My iPod Touch went into recovery mode earlier this evening while I was playing around with the new FontSwap application (as seen here).
Anyway, getting right to it, here is a program that can get you out of recovery mode without ever having to actually ‘recover’ your iPod Touch / iPhone using the iTunes software.
Download iBricker
Secondary Download Link (if the above doesn’t work)
Hope this helps! I know that it has helped me multiple times in the past, and will more than likely help me out in the future, too.

Thank you so much. I had just finished filling up my ipod touch before I was to go on vacation and when I was done I got a message asking if I wanted to upgrade to new software. I clicked ok and my touch went into recovery mode and I thought that I had to restore my original settings. You have made me the happiest man alive!!
Thanks again,
James

hello jody,
i have a messed up iphone ad I have tried using ziphone and unfortunately ibricker appears to be just for windows users. When I use Ziphone I seem to be going in a loop and restoring my phone over and over again. When finishing retorsing get the message that the sim card is not recognized and then i try the ziphone thing and it then tells me it detects an iphone in recovery. I am hoping you can help. Thank you for you time and hope to hear from you soon…..

first off. stop using a mac os. it sucks. go out and buy a windows xp or vista cd now. second of all, stop being such a ditz jessica. macbooks are evil. basically bastardized unix systems you may as well be running ubuntu for all the help a mac will be. windows is the standard, always has been and always will be. unix is good for nothing other than bootcds. also in case this message hasnt insulted you enough, please note that anyone trying to open an .exe file on a unix/linux, mac or any other system than a windows system, should automatically get a virus for it.
if you absolutely MUST keep mac os or linux, might i suggest WinE? (Win Emulator – it makes a non-windows system, run windows programs. might be buggy, or hell why not just download vmware and run winxp on it or something. seriously. why do people bother with other operating systems?)

iBricker can’t find my iTouch! I’m reallllyyy desperate! You have no idea. I did the most stupidest thing. I was trying to downgrade my iTouch from a stupid 3.0 to 2.2.1. So I decided to download an older iTunes to do so. I freaking delete all my iTunes songs. And I mean to recycle bin. -.- AND WHEN IT SAID, “FILE IS TOO BIG, DO YOU WANT TO DELETE PERMANENTLY?” I CLICK YES! I don’t want to loose my songs. I have about 733 songs!!!!! The only way for me to get them back without downloading all 733 songs, which will takes DAYS!!, is for me to get out of recovery mode and not loose ANYTHING on my iTouch gen 1. FJEIWOJFEWIOFJEWAJFOEKIFRJEOWJF!! I’m reallyyy desperate. YOU HAVE NO IDEA! Pleaaassee! HELP ME! I CAN’T LOOSE MY SONGS!

To the numpties who are arguing about Windows versus Mac/Linux pack it in you are helping no-one and only making fools of yourselves. Being a CompTIA engineer I regularly come into contact with both OSes and they both have their good and bad points. It is true to say that Macs are less hardware hungry than Windows especially Vista but that aside it is just a matter of personal choice. I prefer Windows because its what I am used to but aside from Active Sync with Windows Mobile there is little that you can do in Windows that you can’t with Unix and in fact as IPhones use OSX it stands to reason that Macs are more compatible with them than Windows. Instead of launching a flame war why not try to help users of both OSes.

ughhh it did everything but when it tried to looked for my ipod touch it said cannot find it….does this only work with iphones?
